About Dr Fran

MB ChB, MRCPCH, MRCPsych

I’m Dr. Fransiske Evans, a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in integrative mental health care. My practice is grounded in traditional psychiatric training, enhanced by contemporary insight into nutrition, lifestyle, and the broader context of wellbeing.

Over the years, I’ve developed a model of care that blends clinical depth with clarity, responsiveness, and personal connection. I work with individuals and families navigating emotional complexity, neurodivergence, or the impact of modern life on mental health—providing high-level support that is tailored, collaborative, and grounded in the whole person.

My approach is curious and deeply human. I believe meaningful care begins with understanding—creating space to support resilience, emotional clarity, and sustainable change. Whether working with young people, parents, or professionals seeking balance, I aim to meet clients where they are, and help them move forward with confidence.

EARLY FOUNDATIONS IN MEDICINE

My early medical and paediatric training gave me a practical understanding of how health and emotional wellbeing begin to take shape. Working across hospital and community settings—including a formative post in Namibia—helped shape a responsive, steady approach to care, especially in challenging or high-pressure environments.

Early clinical experience in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Royal Hospital for Sick Children, 1997 - 2001

DISCOVERING PSYCHIATRY

My interest in emotional health and human experience led me to psychiatry. I completed my MRCPsych and began developing a reflective, evidence-based approach that connects psychological, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

SPECIALISATION IN CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY

Working closely with young people and families across the UK, I saw how early, compassionate, and well-structured support could shift outcomes. Specialist placements in early psychosis, complex trauma, and learning disabilities deepened my commitment to early intervention and whole-person support.
Completed advanced specialism in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; joined the GMC Specialist Register, 2005 - 2013
Clinical experience in early psychosis, learning disabilities, eating disorders, and complex trauma
Delivered care in specialist NHS outpatient services for children and adolescents

LEADING & LEARNING IN COMPLEX CARE

Taking on consultant roles in CAMHS and Early Intervention Psychosis Services expanded my work with clients experiencing high levels of distress. This period also allowed me to lead service development around transition care and refine my skills in therapeutic methods such as CBT, systemic family work, and motivational interviewing—supporting clients through periods of instability with clarity and care.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of support do you offer?
I offer personalised psychiatric care that integrates clinical expertise with a broader understanding of lifestyle and wellbeing. Whether you’re navigating a diagnosis, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, or seeking a more sustainable path to mental health, I provide thoughtful, one-to-one support tailored to your needs.
Do I need a formal diagnosis to work with you?
Not at all. Many people come to me seeking clarity, support, or a fresh perspective—whether or not they have a formal diagnosis. I’m here to help you explore what’s going on and offer care that makes sense for where you are right now.
How is this different from therapy or coaching?
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, I bring medical training and specialist experience in mental health to our work. My approach blends therapeutic understanding with clinical insight and lifestyle integration—giving you depth, clarity, and continuity across your care.
Do you work with families or only individuals?
Both. I support individuals of all ages, as well as families navigating emotional, behavioural, or developmental concerns. If you’re supporting someone else, I can also work with you to provide tools, understanding, and ongoing guidance.
What if I’m not sure what kind of support I need?
That’s completely okay. Many clients begin without clear answers—just a sense that something isn’t quite right. Our first step is to explore your experiences together and clarify what kind of support feels most helpful for you right now.
